A great location if you're spending time in Colchester town center, visiting the castle and sampling the many wonderful pubs and restaurants in the area. The rooms were nice and roomy. They did tell us ahead of time that the room was on two floors (bed upstairs and lounge/study downstairs), a nice layout although a bit of a trip hazard if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and don't want to wake your partner. The staff were friendly and attentive.

As usual my stay was wonderful The staff cannot do enough for you Standards in all areas are very high! This is what keeps me returning…on that note, I’m wondering if there could be some kind of reward , ie a free dinner, or returning guests?!

What an amazing hotel, we had a two day stay in the Venetian Suite, a lovely room. Greyfriars is a beautiful hotel with a chilled vibe. On our second night, (after our wedding) we walked in and the staff had filled the suite with rose petals and some lovely chocolates. We live around 30 minutes away but will be staying again for a date night or two 😉
