Live Like a North Shore Local~Walk To Coffee/Store, near Road to Hana, Haleakala

"Being a former resident of Upcountry visiting and now residing in South Kona on Hawaii Island, the house was amazing and it being walking distance (by the way a beautiful walk) to convenience store, amazing restaurant, and social places. The price was perfect and felt the owners undersold their amenities and house - it was more than what we read and exceeded our expectations. The rules were not overly ridiculous and supported the the idea for visitors to be part of the responsibility for a "home away from home". The decor was amazing and the house was cool during the hottest summer temperatures. Even though there were residents on the same property, I felt like we had our own privacy and didnʻt even see them, just as the compendium mentioned. We had a great and terrific time and if we were great guests, would love to rebook and make recommendations for others."

Hank is responsive and provides all sorts of helpful information about the area. We loved our week at Hank’s in Haiku!"

"Absolutely lovely rental with comfortable lounging spaces, loads of views from the slope of Haleakala, quiet (well, those francolins are a bit insistent!) and clean. If you like cool nights and feeling like you are close to the stars, this is the place to be! The bedroom is on the second floor, so must be good with stairs, but it's such a nice retreat. Easy location to get to and from, and the hosts were excellent."

"Jermo was truly an incredible host who went above and beyond to make sure we were completely safe and accounted for during Hurricane Lala. The house was one of the safest places to be during the hurricane, our power never went out and the house itself was super sturdy and could withstand the high velocity winds. The bathrooms were really nice and updated and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with absolutely everything you’d need. We definitely hope to come back again sometime!"

"Our stay at The Banyon Tree B&B was amazing. We had nine in our party, everyone had their own space and multiple wonderful spaces to gather together, particularly at the amazing pool and hot tub with incredible views of Maui and the water. The grounds are spectacular with gorgeous plantings everywhere. The host, Heleina, was so kind and responsive to any issue that came up. The spaces were clean, comfortable and welcoming. The house is situated in the hills of Makawao, away from the touristy areas with only a short drive to downtown Makawao or Paia for a little shopping and dining, which cannot be beat. I would highly recommend the Banyon B&B."
