"Great room and space was fine - was thinking room would be smaller! Coffee maker was a bonus. Staff at desk were always lovely and friendly. Mostly fine for waiting for lifts/elevators but at busier times was a longer wait. There are 3 though so wasn’t too bad as other reviews worried me about this before going. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Had to ask for firmer pillow though - they accommodated quickly. Walls are thin and did shake when other doors slammed shut. Situated by lift which wasn’t an issue but also by the cleaning cupboard so was woken a few times - one at 2:30am with someone on their walkie talkie. Smoke alarm was going off on night we got back - they removed battery and said would replace next day but it never got replaced before we then left. Overall a great stay - location is fab next to a lot of things and also to lots of subway options. Walkable to Staten Island ferry / charging bull / Wall Street etc. Would definitely stay here again."

"We stayed here as a family with two preteens to go to New York City during the day and it was a great option for us. It was definitely clean, I wouldn’t call it spic and span by any means. The location is fabulous for views of the New York City skyline, as well as easy access to the metro to get into New York. There is a CVS nearby, a couple of walking blocks to get anything you might need and I never felt unsafe in this location."

"It is under renovation on the first floor and once you step out of the hotel, its dirty surrounding but thats NY for ya! Great friendly staff and smooth check-in! We got one of the upgraded rooms and great sq footage for a NY hotel! Very clean rooms. Very quiet overnight! Sub par stay! Would come back! Near subway! Good location to SOHO, Chinatown!"

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and this property. I stayed back in Feb in the days leading up to the blizzard - Shaq and the team were so incredibly helpful at this time and overall every staff member I met was incredibly thoughtful, considerate and polite. My room was immaculate, obviously the rooms are a little more compact but I never felt without. It is very thoughtfully designed. I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ll be returning in a couple of weeks. The location is perfect walking distance to really anything you may need. I think this will be my go to place on each NYC visit. "We recently stayed at The New Yorker for a quick two-day, one-night trip, and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is nice and centrally located right off 8th Avenue, making it very convenient for exploring the heart of New York. Although there was construction happening outside, it did not impact our stay. Check-in was a highlight. The front desk associate was welcoming, allowed us an early check-in, and even provided an upgraded room, which we truly appreciated. There were a few small touches that could have made the stay even better. For a hotel of this size and location, it would have been nice to have complimentary coffee or water available in the lobby. While the room included a Keurig, it only had coffee and no tea options. Additionally, there was no microwave in the room or accessible anywhere in the hotel. After ordering in-room dining, which was quite expensive, it would have been helpful to reheat leftovers rather than having to go back out. Bathroom amenities were also very basic. Items like lotion or makeup remover wipes would have been a nice addition, especially compared to other hotels at a similar or even lower price point. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the location and customer service, but a few added conveniences and amenities would elevate the experience even more. "

"The elevators were not working properly during our stay. Sometimes we waited 15 minutes for an elevator to arrive. Rooms were a bit tired. Views and location are great. "
