"Alcohol isn't served until 11am. Clean room, friendly staff. Small beach area. We had the beach front walk out which was nice. However some sort of night club thud thuds until about 3am each night we were there which affected our sleep as it was quite loud"

"This was quite an excellent hotel somewhat walkable from the main district in playa del Carmen.(15- 20 mins )The rooms were pretty neat, with good breakfast and the staff were super friendly along with great recommendations for food as well as tourist attractions nearby. They also had safe underground parking for the residents which was super convenient too and overall I’d highly suggest this place given the value for money , amenities on site as well as the super friendly staff."

"This is a nice hotel situated far enough from 5th Avenue to not be affected by late night noise. The atrium that the rooms look onto is very pleasant with lots of greenery. There is a very small pool that seemed to be mostly used by kids. There's a small beach area at the end overlooking the sea, although you couldn't have swum from there as there is only steep, seaweedy access. My room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, kitchenette sitting area and a nice bathroom. It also had a patio area with a hammock. The only thing I didn't like was that my room was on the ground floor and near the entrance, which meant that it was quite noisy early and late with guests and staff congregating outside and talking loudly. If I went again I would hope for a room either upstairs or further from the entrance."

"This was my 4th visit to Sofia & as usual, the staff was absolutely wonderful. The room/unit was bright & clean & equipped enough supplies to enjoy a nice cup of tea/coffee on the balcony each morning. Unfortunately, the elevator malfunctioned at the midway point of my stay & remained out of order until check out.. Walking up "

El Taj Oceanfront & Beachside Condo Hotel

"We went to stay at El Taj from May 7 to May 15. The property is beautiful and quiet. We booked a 2 bedroom with rooftop area. We BBQd a few times and relaxed in the shaded pallapa. I made friends with the Turtle, so that was cool. We booked our trip during Sargassum season so of course the beach was unaccessible and stinky, no fault of the hotel. Many people worked long hours everyday trying to keep up with cleaning the beach. The staff was so accommodating, giving us beach chairs cooler, towels and umbrella and a ride to and from a great beach close by. Shout out to Eric and Elijardo(?, sorry if i messed up the name), the Bellmen who took great care of us. I would stay again, just earlier in the year! "
