Accommodation in Mexico and Central America

Mexico and Central America are popular areas for tourists particularly during the summer. With friendly people, excellent food, luxurious resorts, and great weather, it's easy to see why.

Mexico

One of the great draws of a vacation to Mexico is how affordable it can be. All-inclusive packages for resorts in places like Playa del Carmen at discount prices are abundant in Mexico. Many times, these packages include not only food and accommodations, but they offer airfare as well. Many of these resorts have a beachfront location. These laid-back getaways include locations such as the Riviera Maya. The Riviera Maya runs along the Gulf of Mexico and features cool, white-sand beaches and clear waters that are great for swimming and snorkeling.

Pretty much everyone loves to eat, and Mexican cuisine is very popular. True Mexican food isn't just tacos and enchiladas. From mole, a sauce made with chocolate and toasted chilies, to a variety of seafood dishes in coastal areas, the cuisine of Mexico is tantalizing to the taste buds.

By visiting ancient ruins, such as Tulum and Chichen Itza, history buffs can feel as though they've stepped back in time. These areas house the remains of the pyramids and stone houses of some of the earliest residents of Mexico.

Central America

Central America shares many of the charms of Mexico, such as affordability and excellent beaches, but it has a distinct and separate charm all it's own. Central America has two high seasons and two low seasons for tourists. High season for tourism in Central America lasts the months of November through April and June through August. You can also see significant crowds in Central America around Easter and Christmas. The low season for Central American tourism includes the month of May as well as the months from September through October. During this time, the crowds are more manageable. Many hotels use the low season to renovate rooms, so hotel rooms may be a bit more difficult to find during this time.

Like Mexico, Central America has an abundance of things to see and do. Here, you can visit Mayan ruins or travel through ancient jungles. For those that love the beach, a trip to Honduras or Belize will do wonders. If visiting a cosmopolitan city is more your thing, check out Panama City with its beautiful skyline and friendly people.
