"If I has more plans in the south of Kyoto, I would definitely stay at Hotel She. The staff were super and the rooms were adequate in size. However, as tourist to Tokyo, I suggest staying close to Gion if possible. Most everything we did was north of Kyoto Station, so staying at Hotel She was not efficient."

"We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. The bed in the second bedroom is on the floor, which isn't a bad thing considering this is an authentic experience,...

"This is a lovely house in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood. The place has all the amenities listed plus much more. There are many thoughtful additional things such as face soap, lotion, an extra razor, toothbrushes, and drinks in the fridge.
