My husband was unexpectedly unable to join me on the trip. But my cousin came along instead. When I explained what happened, they helpfully changed my king room to a double queen. This is my second trip to the Fairmont Orchid. The beach and pool are lovely. The food is fabulous. The grounds are immaculate. The outdoor spa can't be beat with the sound of the running water. I had picked the Orchid originally because I wanted a place my husband would enjoy while I was off scuba diving. With my cousin with me (who also dives), I sometimes wished we were closer to the harbor. But, the Orchid really can't be beat for a beautiful spot to enjoy (and it is close to some of the lovely state beaches to the north -- not that you need to go to them given the lovely cove with drinks service!!) Oh! And if you happen to be there on a "talk story" weekend at the nearby Eva Parker Woods Cottage, you should go!

The property was maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, although minor enhancements would improve the overall guest experience. While basic pantry essentials such as salt and pepper were absent, the unit was well-stocked with cleaning supplies, paper towels, and toilet paper. Additionally, the assigned parking space is located at an inconvenient distance from the unit. Please be advised that travel times from this location are approximately 90 minutes to Hilo, two and a half hours to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and nearly one hour to the Kona coffee farms. For more cost-effective grocery options, please visit the Island grocery store located in the Queens' Marketplace.

Staff were very friendly from the moment you walk into their office to check in. Rooms were clean and met our needs. I didnt know the gameroom could be reserved and their was a birthday party the day we tried to use it but its ok we still used the pool and now know in advance we can book a reservation for it. Mahalo
