I stayed for work, wanting to be near the train station to commute to Crown for a convention and attend meetings in the CBD and UWA precinct.
Alex Hotel had been recommended by friends, and this was indeed a good location, clean with helpful and very friendly staff. I had been put off previously by the room rates, but it was low season and there was a discount through Expedia this time.
However this is not for a business traveller and certainly not a place that I feel like I would stay if I was on holiday (except for maybe one night en route to somewhere else). Room was very basic (no chair, desk), iron/ironing boards were shared for each floor, complimentary tea/coffee was available but on Level 1. I understand breakfast at a home is expensive, but this seemed steep. In all, these things I can live with.
The major issue was the noise. I understand that this is in Northbridge and I know what this place is about (I had a uni job at The Deen nightclub nearby). Bass from Universal Bar persisted well after midnight. The clubs are not going anywhere, but I did expect noise-proofing, and not having to rely on complimentary ear plugs. I had a "Slumber" room, and I am fairly certain the noise was not disclosed as an issue.
I don't think I can justify the room rate, even with the discount. Stay here if you're keen for a big night out with your mates, but its not exactly a romantic getaway or suitable as a place to base yourself for extended business trips.

These apartments are in a fantastic location with the best view of Perth there is. The rooms are generous in size and are very clean. The kitchenette is well equipped with a large fridge and everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a great place to stay and we'll be back.

The room was clean, and the staff were helpful. The breakfast provided was adequate, and parking is plentiful. However, the gym was smaller than expected. Overall, a good stay!

We had a Club Lounge room, this was fantastic.
The room was enormous, clean and well appointed. The cocktails and the breakfast in the lounge were plentiful and wide ranging, plenty for any taste.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Won’t hesitate to stay here again

Enjoyed our stay and the great ocean views from our room and balcony on the 17th floor! The beds were very comfortable and the room was well appointed. Staff were lovely and responsive. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location next to the beach was fantastic and we made use of the bus station nearby and connections to the city along with the array of cafes, bars and other eateries nearby.
Soundproofing in the room was fantastic which blocked noise from the road and the nightlife. We had trouble adjusting the aircon temperature down so would open doors where possible - instructions for that would be good.
We were originally allocated an unrenovated room on the 14th floor with a shower in bath arrangement but requested a move as our room booking had indicated a walk in shower. Beware the older rooms - very hard beds, poor views and quite a depressing vibe. My review would be very different if we'd stayed in that room.
The complex is looking a bit tired but renovations are occurring with the main entrance and pool out of action. Housekeeping could improve - towels weren't replaced one day and they didn't service our room the next.
All up, the benefits outweigh the negatives with the Rendezvous. I'll be back to stay again in future!

A good location, really spacious family room. We lots of issues from no access to balcony, no washing machine, car park taken - the staff were fantastic to deal with but it was really tricky and disappointing with two little kids. The room we had was not safe for a moving baby (stairs, bed big glass vases) but we made do. The pool is absolutely freezing, like an ice bath.
