"Great location near the Union Square But walking around at night of San Francisco downtown is very sketchy as lots of homeless around. There are some around the streets. No microwave in the room. Has a nice restaurant and lounge, which has great vibes. Room is definitely smaller than standard hotel room. No complementary breakfast and free coffee won't offer until 7 am Which is a disappointment as most of come to visit San Fran for business purpose and leave the hotel before 7 am anyways. Price is reasonable if they offer these items and services mentioned above. Over all nice hotel, clean, well-kept, welcoming staff and good location."

"We had a family Reunion and both my family of four (2 littles and My hubby and I) and my folks stayed here! We LOVED it. Great restaurant downstairs in the lobby (super points for convenience and yummy food) . Great location , super safe, right across from the boujee hotel with the gingerbread house! We loved the hotel staff! They give you free water bottles whenever you want them and they were very kind and easy to communicate with! Valet service was fast and efficient and great dudes! Loved the hotel itself! Old but has been renovated with the new amenities! The elevators are a bit slow HOWEVER we found the elevator the staff use and were told we could use it too….game changer! My kids LOVED riding in that elevator. Very clean, very classy and very much affordable compared to The other hotels around it!"

"The staff were pretty nice and friendly. The check-in and check-out processes were fast and efficient. The hotel is nice, a bit dated with some remodeling done. But it’s definitely not modern or new. It’s in a good neighborhood and close to a lot of tourist spots. I’m at close to the Moscone so that was what made me stay here."

"The Taj is a hallmark hotel. So glad I tried it again. Staff was incredible. The room size fab. Built ins very functional. Loved the pastries in the morning. The only thing keeping it from 4.5 to 5 stars is that my deluxe king was supppsed to have a window sear and it did not. Usually I know the hotels better so would have caught it at check-in (they may have downgraded me as the room als seemed smaller than the deluxe king as it was close to the fire exit. Next time I will call it out at check-in and have a better handle on the rooms - most hotels take advantage of newbies bc you don’t know the config. But it was great. Staff. Amenities. Location. Built-ins."

"Clean room, staff was great. However, the hotel may be too close to noisy areas in SF to guarantee a restful and quiet night. I had difficulty sleeping without being awoken by police or ambulane sirens and people shouting outside the hotel. As for the complimentary breakfast, there wasn't much. They ran out of milk for the cereal very quickly. And the cereal was the highlight of the breakfast options. Yotel did hold my suitcase for me even after I checked out of my room which I greatly appreciated. Overall it was an average experience for me, and I do appreciate the service of the staff."
