"This was my 5th time in New York. Having stayed in various areas I'd say this area and hotel overall were my favourite. For such a busy time of year it was lovely to escape midtown and stay in a quieter less touristy area (even though I was the tourist). The hotel was lovely, great style, clean, nice staff and very quiet (rare for New York). We couldn't hear any other guests or noise from the outside (because we were in the quieter area). "It was a good hotel for New York. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. There were delicious Chinese restaurants all around. I tried one called Dim Sum Palace and it was the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. The area seemed to be very safe, even late at night. It was a Saturday and there were many young couples and groups walking around at 10 p.m. The next morning I found a nice place for breakfast called The Corner Bar just across the street.
