"Lovely little room located above a pub, perfect quick getaway with wonderful staff. Continental breakfast is included which is just enough to start your day. Views inside the room are amazing with the way the building is built up a hill"

Great welcome, great rooms and wonderful feel to the place. In a month of travelling over 5 counties was the best and most professional travel experience we have had so far. Would recommend the Kings Arms to anyone

The area around Box Hill is beautiful. Some nice little nature areas within strolling distance. Good star-gazing. Staff at the pub were great, as were the locals. Excellent local ciders and ales. Food was great too, great ploughman's lunch. Amazing place to watch the sunset and see the lights of Bath in the distance.

I was greeted warmly by Phillip and given an upgrade without asking. Really comfortable room with nice amenities. The hotel is in the centre of Devizes. Had a delicious meal in their restaurant. Couldn’t fault it!

Professional, friendly staff. we had one of the newly refurbished rooms which was decorated in very tastefully and was very comfortable. The bed was the best I have slept in out of many this trip and the bathroom was lovely. we had an exceptionally beautiful dinner in the restaurant while our children stayed in our room and had room service burgers and brownies while watching the big flat screen TV. we didn't get to try the pool but it looked lovely as it does on the website. the grounds are...

Received a warm welcome by hosts. We were thrilled to find luxurious furnishings and kitchen stocked with many extra thoughtful provisions - chocolate cake, fruit, alcohol etc. The quality of the foodstuffs provided was superb. Jo was extremely informative about places to visit, the history of the area and anticipated our day to day needs. Nothing was too much trouble.

A lovely stay just outside Bath
The hotel looks stunning from the outside, especially in the evening when the façade and grounds are beautifully lit up. A real plus is the layout: the guest rooms are situated in a separate building away from the main bar and dining area, which meant our stay was peaceful and free from pub noise.
Our room was surprisingly spacious, bright, and well equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable visit. The location worked out brilliantly for us as well....

Lot of history with the building. it is a working farm. While not modern rooms they retain the character of the building and have everything you need. Ensuites are modern and fully renovated. Bed extremely comfortable. Owner very friendly and helpful. Lovely little village with a lovely pub within walking distance that had great meals. The place really grows on you and you get some understanding of the history of the place. Highly recommend!

The best area to stay in Seend is within the village centre itself, particularly around the High Street and the areas leading off it.
Seend village is a compact, pretty settlement with a historic feel. The High Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with traditional cottages and a few local businesses. You'll find the village's main amenities here, including the local pub and the village shop. The Kennet and Avon Canal also runs through the edge of the village, offering lovely waterside walks.
Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find Seend village ideal. It offers a relaxed pace of life, with opportunities for quiet strolls along the canal or through the surrounding countryside. The village pub provides a welcoming spot for an evening meal without having to travel far.
For those interested in exploring the wider Wiltshire area, staying within Seend village provides a convenient and picturesque base.
When is the best time to go to Seend?
The best time to visit Seend is typically from late spring to early autumn, specifically between May and September.
During these months, the weather is generally warmer and drier, making it ideal for exploring the Wiltshire countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find the local canals and walking paths more pleasant, and the gardens in the surrounding villages are usually in full bloom. This period also often coincides with local events and village fetes, offering a chance to experience community life.
For those who enjoy walking and cycling, the shoulder months of May, June, and September offer comfortable temperatures without the peak summer crowds. The longer daylight hours during these months provide ample time for exploring the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath or visiting nearby attractions like Lacock Abbey.
If you're planning a trip focused on relaxing and enjoying the scenery, July and August provide the warmest weather, great for leisurely pub lunches by the canal or simply unwinding in a tranquil setting.
