"I like the Congress Plaza because it's still a reasonably priced downtown hotel that is close to a lot of downtown attractions. I didn't find the counter staff particularly professional, friendly, or helpful this particular visit. Was a bit disappointed by that. Otherwise, we liked our rooms (539 and 539A). Will be back. "

"The hotel was in a great location. The lobby/gathering area was great & my kids loved the pool. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. My only critique is that the common spaces could use some freshening up. I noticed stains on carpet and upholstery & some cushions were starting to get a little threadbare. Nothing that affected our enjoyment, but noticable all the same. All the staff was friendly & I would definitely stay here again."

Parking each night thru the hotel is an ADDITIONAL $50. Or that’s just normal for hotels in Chicago ? Got a $70 ticket during my time checking in to the hotel. Maybe it’s just a learning curve staying in Chicago. "
