"the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were old, but clean and functional. The only caveat was the restaurant - the food was good, and the prices were equivalent to the rest of the Central London restaurants, but they were out of a lot of common things - cabernet sauvignon wine, etc. - and the staff was not especially friendly - but again, this seems to be common at the Central London restaurants we visited. By far the best part of our visit was the hotels location - it was a 3 minute walk to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Parliament, a n 8 minute walk to St. James part and Buckingham Palace - and it is close to the Strand and Charing Cross shopping/restaurant areas - there is even an excellent Waterstone's bookstore directly across the street - where you can get a great, and inexpensive, latte."

"Reception staff were excellent, very welcoming. Room was great value, comfortable beds. Good variety for breakfast but not very warm by 9am Friends had difficulty checking in on line so didn’t book breakfast. Was told at check in could pay in the morning. Nowhere did it say they charge 7.50 more each on top of the 15 pound we paid."

"This is a regal hotel that is centrally located for the theatre district and the National Gallery. Although it is close to everything, the side street is quiet with a lovely garden behind and easy access to Embankment tube station. The staff is delightful and they recognized us whenever we walked through the lobby. Everything is spotless, including our spacious room. We never really figured the lights out, but that was a small thing compared to having 2 leather recliners and a heated bathroom floor! Breakfast was delicious and features many English specialties—even HP sauce in cute little pots to go with the bangers! This will be my go-to hotel for a theatre trip!"

"The hotel was excellent they are currently doing construction to help improve the property so that is just a temporary negative, however overall the hotel is lovely. Fantastic location very convenient to train, bus, and of course the Tower of London and Tower Bridge!"

"I was attending an event which finished late, and I didn't want to travel home alone. So I looked for somewhere close by to stay which didn't break the bank. The Strand Palace Hotel offers single-bed rooms that come with a luxury shower room stocked with Rituals products, large wardrobe, table & chair, a desk and huge TV. Plus free wifi, bottle of water and bar of chocolate... and all for £110. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel room was quiet & comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again. "
