"What can I say!! This property is a 10000/10. We had a beautiful swim out suite. The room was cleaned daily. The staff went above and beyond. The spa was amazing. If you are weighing your options just book it! You will not be disappointed. The drinks are strong and the steak house is really world class! "

"My stay at Riu Tequila had some great highlights, but also a few letdowns. The entertainment team was truly top-tier — easily 10/10. They consistently organized activities throughout the day and night and made a real effort to engage guests. They were friendly, energetic, and made the experience fun. The shows were interactive and kept us entertained the entire stay. Another standout was the cleanliness. This is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. You constantly see staff maintaining the property, and the rooms were spotless every day. However, the biggest disappointment was the food and drinks. For a RIU resort, I expected much better quality. Most of the cocktails tasted watered down, which was surprising. The food overall was hit or miss during my six-night stay. The buffet was excellent on two nights, offering a great variety of meats and fresh options, but inconsistent on other days. The restaurants were decent, but definitely could have been better. Compared to other RIU resorts I’ve visited, this was a noticeable downgrade in both food and drink quality. One important thing to note: this is not a beachfront property. You’ll need to take a golf cart or walk across the street, which takes about 7–10 minutes. While the golf cart runs every 10 minutes, this could be inconvenient for elderly guests or anyone with mobility challenges. Overall, I’d rate this resort a 7/10. The property is beautiful, and the entertainment and cleanliness really stand out. "

"The hotel is very well maintained, clean, and the rooms are spacious. The service was excellent throughout our stay. The food was great across all the restaurants, including room service. At check-in, we were asked to put down a $1,500 deposit toward dining within the resort, which we declined. It’s worth noting that food prices are on the higher side, and a 20% gratuity is automatically added everywhere—even for small purchases like ice cream at a stand. The location is convenient, with easy access to Playa del Carmen—we went there one evening and it was a nice option nearby."

"The check in was horrific! I have my confirmation from Expedia that I was booked in el cid spa and beach, however when I check in they said I was booked at Ventus Ha. They said that Expedia provided the wrong information to them; I refused to stay at Ventus ha, and it cost me another large amount to added to my original expense. I need see if Expedia made the error or if the person at the check in desk was just up charging me. I definitely want this investigated and the money reimbursed "
