"Everything about my 2 week stay was perfect. It was a cozy place that connected me with the island in a way a hotel never could. I loved the outdoor kitchen/eating area. It was very well stocked. The bed was a comfortable nest of soft blankets and pillows piled on a wonderful mattress. The rain and frogs sang me to sleep each night. It was wonderful taking a warm shower outside each morning. I’ve never done that before and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lot was private and I felt safe- especially traveling alone. Neil was a perfect host and was as helpful as I needed. I highly recommend this property and will be suggesting it to my friends. Enjoy the island. Aloha!"

"Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). Don't miss Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night with other locals. It was a great time. Also, the Lava Flow museum in Pahoa was really interesting and the local guide there explained a lot about how the lava impacted her life."
