If you have a hankering for authentic Chinese food or want to see a lion dance, this is the place to go in southern California.

LA’s Chinatown is not just any old Asian cultural centre Roman Polanski filmed the 1974 movie Chinatown here. It’s changed a bit since then, but the heart and soul of Chinese culture remains. Unlike other “Chinese restaurants” across the US, the establishments here serve authentic Chinese flavours, from dim sum to Beijing duck. Come for the festivals too, with all the neon lights and lanterns you expect, along with food trucks, beer, music and dancing—not traditional Chinese, but fun!
