A staff member entered into our room early in the morning when we were still asleep and woke us up. We were startled by the incident and, although they apologised for the intrusion (they tried to explain what happened but we were so confused and still half asleep that I don't remember what the explanation was). We couldn't get back to sleep, so that was terrible. The hotel should have a system to indicate to staff what rooms are occupied.

My recent seven-day business trip stay at this hotel was nothing short of a disappointment due to its extremely poor service. Firstly, the hotel failed to deliver on its promise of adequate heating as advertised on their website. Despite being in the midst of winter, my room was inadequately heated, necessitating the wearing of a down coat indoors throughout my stay. This unacceptable condition resulted in me falling ill on the final day of my trip, adding further discomfort to my journey back to the US. The thermostat was non-functioning. Additionally, the room service was abysmal. From day one, I repeatedly informed them of the heating issue, attempting to communicate on five separate occasions during my stay. Despite my efforts, each interaction yielded no tangible solutions. Even after promises of assistance and attempts to escalate the matter, including speaking with the front desk and the manager, the situation remained unresolved. The lack of improvement led to increasingly uncomfortable conditions, culminating in both myself and my husband falling ill on the last night. Moreover, the promises made by the manager to address the issue were empty gestures. Despite assurances of communication and resolution upon check-out, no follow-up occurred. Even after confirming our contact details, there has been no attempt to rectify the situation or provide an explanation for the subpar service experienced.

Good location, but the room we stayed in is desperate need of upgrading. Been several times over many years and it’s getting worse. Shower dreadful .. tiny head, over a bath , half flow .. you had to stand flat against the wall to get slightly wet … not 5 star… nothing in the minibar, bathroom accessories very limited, very few tea and coffee options… all done on a very limited budget so it was very overpriced. Bar gone downhill … like a nightclub… nowhere to have a quiet drink … full of very young partygoers … I could say a lot more here but it would be speculation. Great location but needs a refurb and to decide whether it’s a nightclub or 5 star hotel … sorry but been many times and this is what I see now.

Forth time staying here and still a great hotel, great location… this time really let down by breakfast…. Long wait to be seated, wasn’t offered a breakfast menu which most other tables were and had to ask 5 times for coffee which took 10 mins to come… a shame as the first time this hotel has dropped the ball for me..

We’ve stayed at the Mayfair many years ago and loved it hence why we chose it again. Great location. The building works going on outside our room wasn’t ideal but couldn’t be helped but wasn’t acceptable is the shower leaked onto a shiny tiled floor which created an ice rink on which my partner slipped over and damaged his hip which could of been a lot worse may I add. When we informed reception when we checked out (as we only stayed 1 night) he was actually fully aware & said it’s been a problem for a long time. Not what you expect from £400 a night.

The hotel is very well located, We were immediately upgraded to a better room, recognizing our VIP status. The rooms are a bit dark and on the weekend it may get noisy. There is a lot of construction around the area so good luck if you are planning to sleep-in late. The bar on the ground floor is cool and restaurant is great. The staff members are courteous and ready to help. The manager Luigi Carotenuto was amicable and made our stay a lot better. Unless you are traveling with family and need the connecting rooms, try to avoid them since you can hear almost everything that goes on next door.

Love the location in Mayfair, and staff was nice. But we had bathroom/water issues: when taking a shower in the stall next to the bathtub, water would leak onto the bathroom floor. Plus one afternoon we awoke from a nap to find a trickle of water in one sink— that we had not turned on— overflowed and flooded the bathroom and soaked the carpet in the guest room room entryway. The staff removed the water, but we had to pile towels on the wet carpet for the two days we stayed there after the incident. Water soaked through the towels too and the moisture caused a musty odor. An inconvenience that could have been averted by moving us to a different room or using a professional carpet cleaning machine. No sr staff person apologized.
