Family friendly modern hotel with nice little pool
Helpful staff - made our children feel welcome. Modern hotel. Quiet location. Great buffet breakfast. Lovely pool and sauna, small and needs booking but great condition.

since it is my first trip to UK, I will compare this hotel to the ones in America which I had more experience with. Pros: close to Paddington Station. 15 min to Heathrow airport via Heathrow express. Easy commute to all major attractions. There are grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants within walking distance. Nice and well-lit (Christmas decorations) Neighborhood. Staff was helpful. Nice breakfast in the hotel. Cons: The room is at most a 3-star, if not a 2.5-star hotel room by US standard. Small. Sheets, pillows, towels, shower products are very basic. There are hairs on the floor and on the sheets. Sheets had a unique smell which I did not know what it was. Overall, my family had a good stay.

I have been staying here for a number of years now, rooms are due a refurb. Having a separate toilet with no basin is not practical. Pillows were uncomfortable and incredibly poor quality.

Convenient but average
Location of this hotel is the best thing about it. It also has a small pool and gym which are nice to have but not excellent. Superior rooms were dated, cramped with lumpy pillows and duvets. There has been an effort to create a nice bar/restaurant space downstairs but there was no atmosphere even the week before Christmas, and the staff were mostly unwelcoming.. Front desk staff were inconsistent - some great/friendly, some rude.

Novotel Paddington is in a convent location that is about 5-10 minute to/from Paddington Station with the access to taxi’s. Novotel had friendly, helpful staff, clean hotel, restaurant & bar on site with room service option. We would stay there again in the future.

This hotel doesn't merit the cost of the room. Decor has felt tired and dated for a while but in my last stay my sink was blocked, there were blood stains on the carpet and the towel had holes, stains, and dirt.

Great location, improvement needed
An acceptable room but could have been better. While there is refurbishment ongoing, the hotel seemed a little disorganised. A superior room had no superior qualities but the bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was badly planned and shower badly sited in the middle of the bath making showering difficult. A shower curtain was equally unhelpful. A second room on my booking had a separate shower cubicle but leaked onto the floor and was without soap for two days despite requests to replace. Sean was proactive with housekeeping and keen to help. But overall the rooms were expensive for the standards, and there is nothing below a superior room to book, so naming is misleading.

It’s a pleasant area and there are some good restaurants around. Subway (Paddington) was not as convenient as I thought but not too bad. It was an okay room. The walls were a little dirty (especially bathroom). Could do with some touch ups and attention to details. Biggest negative was no electrical or usb outlets near the bed… I struggled to plug in my CPAP machine which is essential.

The property location worked well for us - relatively close to a tube station and some little shops for essentials and dining options close. The room was little - like probably 12-15 square metres. Too small for two double beds. Our service didn't happen one day, then we get a knock at 6.30pm the next. The only day it did get done they didn't take the dishes or rubbish out. The pool, which is a significant reason we chose the hotel had to be booked in advance, for only an hour a day. Ummmm.... Excuse me? While no fault of the hotel (but they should have known) the street was closed and our taxi no showed. When we ordered the next, and were told 15-20 pounds by the hotel, when the driver arrived he said minimum 35. That didn't end well... Overall great location and pleasant staff - but as a whole it appeared that lots of them didn't really know what they were doing, and the typical things you pay when choosing a hotel was pretty poor. We paid 1800 NZD for four night for this place (about GBP200/night). Was disappointed.
