The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue

10/10 Excellent
"We’ve traveled to the Royal Sonesta in Kauai a couple years back and we fell in love, not only with the island but with the resort, the staff, the food, everything. The staff is so kind and never fail to impress. Our room was clean and they were consistent with the upkeep which I’m usually very particular about. Everything is a bit pricy but that was to be expected in Hawaii. The shops and restaurants are all within walking distance, we rented a car and although we were on the farther end of the resort we always managed to get a spot right by our tower. We appreciate the hospitality and the warm welcome, we will always come back<3"

"We stayed here for a week and we loved it! It was very cozy and the staff was friendly. Very close to the bike path and the beach. They had beach towels, bikes, movies you could check out such as Jurassic Park, and beach chairs you could use. Only thing was the pool was closed for maintenance the whole time and the maintenance man would only let friends and family use it. Wasn’t too big of a deal, we just went to the beach instead. There was a cute cat there as well, very skiddish but liked to just hang out. We learned her name is Sassy."

"The hotel has beautifully landscaped gardens and is right on the beach. The pool and bar were very nice but they didn’t have music at the Pool / bar. Our room was in decent condition clean comfortable bed, but the patio furniture was kind of dated. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance and you can take morning walks along the beach on the walkway there. It was very relaxing and not crowded like some of the big resorts. I highly recommend it."

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

"The Grand Hyatt Kauai is an excellent pick for this island. It is a beautiful hotel right by the beach and has several great pools, a lazy river, a waterslide and a saltwater lagoon. The hotel staff was very friendly. The spa was beautiful as well. The hotel may get crowded when the schools are on holidays because the hotel is kid-friendly but the week we were there, it was not too crowded nor too isolated. Just right. My favorite part of the hotel was the Seaview Terrace which is a café/restaurant with a beautiful ocean view and both indoor and outdoor seating. They had live music and a singer almost every night during dinner time. It was very enjoyable and a great experience."
