You’re minutes from the Lihue Airport, making arrivals and departures effortless, yet it still feels worlds away from the bustle. "Fantastic hotel: location, amenities, service, food, room qualities, views...Pricey, with all the usual ancillary charges (the famous "resort fee"), but overall well worth it given the (mid-tier) quality of other north shore hotels. The design of the property alone, with its vistas of Hanalei Bay around every corner, plus the beautifully appointed rooms and great staff, makes it all worthwhile. Our only minor quibble is the service can be slow at times, especially at their main restaurant and bar, and with their bell (luggage) services. This might have been that they were understaffed given the slightly off-season time we were there, but at these luxury price points slow service, for whatever reason, should not be tolerated. To pay north of $1K per night I expect my food to arrive within a reasonable amount of time (say, within 20m). After all, while the food is very good it is not Michelin-starred (so why the long wait times...?) In the grand scheme of our stay this was minor and we would definitely return."
