"We booked a last-minute 2-night stay at Heythrop Hotel & Spa in mid-April for a birthday, with a great deal including breakfast, dinner, and wine. The estate is beautiful and peaceful, with an impressive manor setting. Check-in was smooth, though parking can be a long walk—use the drop-off if needed. Our quiet North Wing room was comfortable, slightly warm but with opening windows, a nice bathroom, and handy night lighting. Facilities were excellent—we used the pool, hot tub, and steam room (note early closing), and the golf course looked great. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, and there were plenty of relaxing lounges, games, and a billiards room. Dining was very good: Brasserie 32 and The Duke both offered great food and service, and breakfast was plentiful and self-service. The atmosphere was calm and suited to a more mature crowd. It’s cashless, so bring a card, and pre-book activities early. Expect lots of walking due to the hotel’s size. Overall, we loved our stay and would happily return."

"The location, parking and cleaniness of apartment was lovely. However on our first evening had a shower and water warm, my daughter had one after and water cold. My wife couldnt have a shower as water too cold, also no warm water to have wash in the bathroom sink. Also could not wash dishes as no hot water in kichen sink. On contacting host told water only heated 7am to 9am and between 5pm and 7pm. My wife had to have a wash by heating water with a kettle :( also the smell of drains in the bathroom, was evident on our second day and we had to ensure the bathroom door was closed or the smell came into the other rooms. Not nice. There was a sign in the bathroom stating smells can occur if other items are flushed down the toilet other than toiet paper, causing blockages. I can advise no other items were flushed down the toilet and the drain smell was still there and bad. "

"We have just returned from a New Years break at Upper Barn and had a fantastic time as a party of 6 + 1 dog. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and is equipped with everything you need for a break away. The log fire creates a cosy environment and the hot tub is delightful. We did find the owner difficult to contact ahead of our visit when requesting early check-in. Despite calling a number of times and leaving a message nobody got back to us which was disappointing (especially given the contact number was also the emergency contact number that nobody was responding to). Overall a great stay and would recommend."
