Love the gardens. House comfortable inside. Food pretty disgusting though. . So unhealthy to see all that greasy breakfast food, scrambled egg swimming in water, ghastly coffee. Such a shame. Bad for young and old. Stayed in a bothy which was gorgeous. YHA staff superb! Really helpful. Thank you!

I liked the way that breakfast is available to ' do it yourself in your room'. The heater wasn't working for two days but when I reported it, it was fixed

When is the most affordable time to visit Daylesford?
The most affordable time to visit Daylesford, England, is typically during the off-peak seasons, specifically late autumn (November) and late winter (February to early March), outside of school holidays and major festive periods. During these months, demand for accommodation and activities tends to be lower, leading to more competitive pricing.
For solo travellers, visiting at these times means you're more likely to find better deals on cosy guesthouses or charming bed and breakfasts, which might be fully booked or more expensive during peak season. You'll also encounter fewer crowds, allowing for a more serene experience as you explore the picturesque Cotswolds countryside. Many local eateries may offer special lunch deals or early bird menus during quieter periods, providing excellent value for money.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway on a budget will find that shoulder seasons like early spring (April) or late autumn (October) can also offer good value. While slightly pricier than the deep off-season, you'll still avoid the peak summer rates and enjoy pleasant weather for walks and exploring the local villages. Many of the farm's educational workshops or wellness classes might have lower prices or more availability during these times.

A highlight is exploring the Daylesford Organic Farm, even if you're not planning to shop. You can wander through their beautiful market garden, admire the farm animals, and simply soak in the tranquil, rural atmosphere. It's a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll and a bit of window shopping.
Beyond the farm, the surrounding Cotswolds countryside is a treasure trove of free exploration. Solo travellers can embark on numerous public footpaths and bridleways that criss-cross the area, offering stunning views and a chance to experience the quintessential English landscape. Look for routes around villages like Kingham and Oddington, which are just a short distance from Daylesford and boast charming architecture.
