"The staff are really friendly and the breakfast in a bag is great!"

"We hired the whole property for a family Christmas, and it was warm and beautifully decorated when we arrived. The main Oak kitchen is huge, so was perfect for cooking meals with everyone gathered around. The Log Cabin is great fun, with pool table, arcade games and a giant screen for watching films together. "Hotel was very good, but a little out in the sticks. The food was typical pub grub, but well cooked on the premises. No other pubs, shops or restaurants in the village and there are very few restaurants in the nearest town Bishop Auckland."

"Friendly welcome on arrival and was actually shown to the room. Lovely and clean with refreshments and bottled water. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Would definitely book again"

"Excellent hotel, comfortable bed and good food."

"We enjoyed our stay. The staff were all lovely. The hotel is tired and could do with a refurb. However it was clean and the food, both at breakfast and in the restaurant, was of a high standard. It was also well situated for travelling around both by public transport and by car. We would definitely go back"

"Good size bedroom, excellent breakfast, great staff"
