"The staff was absolutely amazing and doing everything they could to make the stay great, but unfortunately, they seemed very understaffed from check-in to breakfast to the cleanliness of the rooms. The biggest opportunity was definitely in the cleanliness of the rooms. The sheets were not clean once we pulled back the sheets there was hair in there. The carpets need to be shampooed and the pillows had an odor again. I want to stress on the fact that I don’t believe it’s from lack of care from want from the staff I do believe it’s from lack of care to inability of them having time to take care of the rooms properly the area of opportunity that needs to be taken. The greatest improvement on is going to be staffing. "

"Everything about my stay was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. I also really appreciated the laundry facilities—they were convenient and well-maintained. The only downside was the breakfast. It was a bit too simple and didn’t offer many choices, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again."

"They have a good AC, hope staff at night would help better for guests who arrived late so we don’t have to walk all over the place to look for our room, the room was just fine."

"From the moment my family & I checked in, I had a great experience. I was greeted by Sergio he was very helpful & polite. The room was clean & bed was very comfy. The microwave & fridge came in handy. My grandkids had a blast in the pool & hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was so delicious, they served eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt. I can go on & on. Overall my stay was awesome. I will definitely be coming back the next time the family is in Carlsbad for legoland."

"Quick check in, beautiful lobby, gorgeous view, heated pool, nearby restaurant that delivers to room, and very close walking distance to Legoland. "

"Bistro opens for a few hours in morning and evening. No free happy hour, coffee, or meals. I did enjoy the convenience of purchasing Starbucks coffee in the morning. I bought the Breakfast Burrito on the first morning which was still partially cold in the center and with no microwave oven in the rooms, one must use the one near check-in area. On the last day there I did order chicken wings and Mediterranean bowl for dinner, which was excellent. Additionally, I paid for parking ahead of time $6 per day but learned parking is not monitored when I arrived (no dash passes were given) so that is something I will bring up with Expedia. Housekeeping was available every other day but the hallway carpets and outdoors (front area) could use some attention. I typically stay here each year on business. This time the condition of the hotel just seemed to have lost some of its original luster. Maybe its under new management and going through a transition. "
