"The houseboat was comfortable and our host was so friendly and accommodating. While we loved our stay, it's worth noting that the location is further from the city centre than we had expected and amenities like the washroom are not what we expected (cannot flush toilet paper and very small shower). We did not mind this being avid campers, but figured its worth noting for other people who may want more comfortable features for their vacation. "

"Hotel was very modern with friendly staff and good location just few minutes walk to metro station. Bar had a good selection of drinks. Breakfast had a nice touch with barista made coffees but would be nice to have slightly bigger selection of food. I would definitely come back to this hotel. "

"Our stay at the Hoxton Lloyd was really special. We loved the decorations, cleanliness, and the staff were very courteous and accommodating. The restaurant and bar was really nice too. The hotel is walking distance from the tram which makes it convenient for getting to all the landmarks in Amsterdam. If you are traveling with a person who needs more assistance just be aware that the building does not have rails or ramps at the front entrance."

"The room had a mirror to see the canals. The view from the room was not directly very nice but that's alright. Got a shaving kit on request. The coffee in the lobby is good. Wifi is good too. Staff were helpful and printed out stuff I needed. Can see myself returning! Good location too. "

"17th floor- spa room. Hotel was lovely and clean. Room was beautiful with an amazing view of the city from the top floor. The only downside would be that although they provide tea and coffee in the room you have to ask for cups and milk and then cleaners take dirty mugs but don’t replace them. And for paying a bit extra for a more premium room having toiletries like shampoo and conditioner would have been a nice touch. Other than that, staff were lovely, hotel was beautiful and the pool was an added bonus. Lots of roadworks and construction in the area but we didn’t hear anything in the hotel and it didnt impact us at all. Tram only a few minutes walk away into central station which was handy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. "

"The hotel itself is well presented and stylish, with very good facilities and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately, our overall experience was let down by the restaurant and the level of service provided by the staff. During our meal, we were served a glass that had what can only be described as residue resembling snot on the side. When we brought this to the waitress’s attention, she simply took the glass away and poured the same water into a new glass. A more experienced staff member would have replaced both the glass and the water entirely. The situation worsened when we ordered a grilled chicken club Jakarta sandwich, but what arrived was a basic processed chicken toastie—something comparable to a quick grab-and-go item from a coffee chain. At that point, we chose to leave rather than wait longer for a correction, especially as the manager seemed confused about our complaint, despite it appearing we had been served the wrong dish. Overall, the restaurant and staff significantly tainted what could have been a great stay. Additionally, the hotel’s distance from the central train station made getting to and from the city inconvenient. The cost of Ubers quickly added up, and in hindsight, it would have been better to book a hotel closer to the centre."
