"GREAT stay in Ubud area- outstanding service"
Spent 5 days here. The staff went out of their way to make our Christmas vacation extraordinary. Sonny, the manager, arranged a Christmas Eve dinner for our family, and some friends staying at another resort. The chef did a 7 course meal to rival any meal EVER. We had our own private Balinese dance performance, and the ambience was beautiful- fresh flower decorations, and unique Bali touches. Sonny, and his staff, catered to all our whims- shuttled about to our friends hotel, and to Ubud. We hired the shuttle to do 1/2 day and full day tours to Elephants and Monkey tours. It was great. We did a few massages at the spa, and they were also fantastic- kudos to the three ladies that worked us into complete relaxation! Can't say enough great things about Jiwa Klusa- would be GREAT for a honeymoon. Only drawback (but we looked at it as fitness) was the 68 steps up and down from our Private pool villa- so if climbing stairs is an issue- ask for a lower villa.

"This hotel was wonderful"
The Maya Ubud was a wonderful hotel, the views were breathtaking, the pools were wonderful and relaxing, the food was great. My husband and I would have no problems staying here again. The rooms were clean the internet access in the rooms was not very strong, but the the lobby wifi signal was strong and if you wanted a little more privacy you could go to the computer room where there was 4 computers to use. The free shuttle from the hotel to Ubud ran every hour and made it easy to get back and forth and when the shuttle stop running at 5 pm there were plenty of taxis available for a nominal fee. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"A Hidden Gem!"
2 nights in Ubud seem too short when you stay at Plataran. A fabulous hotel that's worth every single dollar! Beautiful lobby, polite staff and mind-blowing views of the paddy fields from both their swimming pools. The room was clean and very well furnished - sexy bathroom as well! Nic, the hotel manager deserves extra credit. We couldn't get a single scooter as it was peak season. Nic took us in his car and went looking for a friend who runs a scooter rental company - all this at 8pm when he could've easily said wasn't his duty time anymore. We were given a personal scooter and even offered a tour around his beautiful house to get the Balinese feel. Location of the hotel is strategic - close by to local attractions. Stay here if you're in Ubud - no regrets!

"Good location, excellent staff, amazing."
Was an immaculate room with very helpful staff and excellent facilities. Is close enough to walk into Ubud and close to shopping facilities and is situated beside rice paddy fields which creates an excellent ambience. Included 3-course breakfast was again excellent, and would recommend for anyone going to enjoy a stay in Ubud.

"Amazing staff"
Fantastic hotel and the most amazing staff! We booked a pool view room. Only down side was there was work going on next door and was really noisy! We asked to be moved and they did say they would upgrade us to a room away from the noise. We did look at it but we didn't think the room was as nice, so we decided to stay in the one we had. It looks like the work will be going on for quite a while, so take this into consideration if booking a pool view room. The pool we practically had to ourself and was lovely. It could do with cleaning each morning as flowers floating it in because they had fallen from the trees over night - But not a big issue. The only other down side to booking a pool room is you don't get the view you get if you book a villa, but obviously this is a lot more expensive. Over all the room was great, food was lovely and staff were amazing. If you can afford it then book a villa to get the view as it really is amazing! It is too far to walk to anything but the hotel does provide a shuttle bus that goes every hour from the hotel between 9-5 for free so that was good. Its a shame it doesn't do it later but you can just get a taxi back for about £4 after 5pm. We ate in ubud most nights as its cheaper and lots of choice!

"Awesome location in the hills"
Really worth a visit - the location in the hills is spectacular. The river at the bottom is pretty loud though so you do hear it from the rooms nearer the river. The staff are all incredible. The food is great and room service was excellent. It is pretty quiet though and about 30 mins drive from Ubud (though there is a free shuttle) but if it's proper peace and relaxation you're after you'll get it here! The only downside is some of the prices are on the high side, including the laundry service, but all in all I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
