The room was perfect and clean. Staff were awesome and accommodating. They allowed us to check in early, which was much appreciated after a long flight! I stayed at a Rui in Cancun as well. Everything they do is 💯!

The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3:30 though the booking said ready by 3. It didn't take too long but was a bit annoying. The room itself was lovely though it was a bit strange to not have a bin and I would have liked more coffee etc. We got a wake up call at 5am which we didn't ask for. When we checked out I brought this up and we were told it was a mistake and the person apologised but I would have preferred if they apologised without me prompting and maybe offered us some kind of compensation. I have issues sleeping so it was really quite disruptive. I did wonder if it was because we were clearly not well off and the place is quite posh. I don't have an issue with someone making a mistake but seems weird not to apologise.

Stay was OK - certainly nothing to complain about, but I’ve stayed at many London hotels and this is not one I’ll return to. Pros were: polite staff, very clean, large hotel in Westminster. Breakfast was fine, a reasonable amount of choice and well cooked. It had a very small separate gluten free selection for anyone who want to know - just had a couple of muffins in it. Cons were that I found the beds hard, and there was no room service. Little atmosphere. I really didn’t like the bedroom toilets - tiny dark wet rooms which didn’t lock and the sliding doors didn’t shut without a gap. No water in the rooms or anything else except very basic tea/coffee - and empty fridge. Not the best hotel to choose if you want to use the underground either; the nearest tube is quite a walk. When it was designed, it feels like some choices were made to prioritise style/look over guest comfort. Quite surprised that others liked it so much, but I put it down to tastes differing.
