9.2/10 Wonderful! (3,327 reviews)
I didn’t like lady working at the rum fire bar by the pool side her name was Margie, extremely rude and hostile! She ignored us, retaliated and made fun of us, I did let the manager Cassie at the front desk know! The rooms looked very depressing, we asked to change our room twice until finally we got a good room, the bathtub was not new and had marks and scratches! The people working at this hotel are kinda not very friendly, they are okay but not high energy and not excellent customer service, they are dry cold and follow policy! They are all asians and they dont treat non-asians with kindness! Most of the guests are also Asian so maybe this is the culture of the hotel ! The hotel has a depressed crowd! At the pool nobody is laughing or excited! Everyone just seemed depressed! There isn’t much to do at the hotel, just pool and public beach, and shops! When you get out of hotel, there is tons of shops everywhere and the nightlife is fun! There is no food service in the room , no canoeing no snorkeling although expedia says they have it at the beach next to the hotel! Overall this could be a fun place for families with kids ! Not singles! We went as a family but no kids! There is only one shower for the beach in the pool ! There breakfast is okay, it has some fruits, and mainly eggs! Not that many options! It is probably the best resort in waikiki tho as all other hotels look even more depressing except surfrider

8.4/10 Very good! (9,529 reviews)
A complete mixed bag, but unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positives. Tropical Storm Lala clearly disrupted operations, which was outside Hilton’s control. What was within their control was how guests were treated. With virtually everything closed, one small store remained open with outrageous food and water prices—and it was cash only, despite no accessible ATMs. Identical drinks were also priced differently across the resort. We were still charged the mandatory $55 daily resort fee despite amenities being unavailable, including the included photo session due to construction. Much of the resort was under construction, the elevator system was incredibly frustrating, and after power returned, our AC barely worked. Our resort credits were essentially unusable because almost nothing was open. The worst part came at 8:30 p.m. on August 16, when the front desk rudely called saying we should have checked out—even though our reservation was through August 18. Apparently, another guest gave our room number, and Hilton checked us out and charged our card without verifying anything. When we went downstairs, the response was basically, “Sorry, our mistake.” This was our honeymoon. Instead of a relaxing trip, we dealt with construction, unavailable amenities, inflated prices, unusable credits, poor communication, broken AC, and an unbelievable checkout error. Hilton, thanks for making our honeymoon unforgettable—for all the wrong reasons. We won’t be returning.
