"Lovely hotel. Located within easy walking distance to centre of York and train station. Welcome cocktail a lovely thought. Rooms clean and tidy. Tried a selection of the bar food small plates and they were very tasty. Breakfast lovely with great choices."

"All the staff were lovely, friendly from the moment we arrived till when we left. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well presented, with thoughtful extra touches. The complimentary breakfast was also excellent and a lovely way to start the day. Such a shame we were only there for one day."

"Every member of staff we encountered from the receptionist to the maintenance staff and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Such good customer service the manager should be very proud. Room was very good , clean, roomy and well appointed. The only complaint we had was that the drains in the bathroom smelt bad. It didn’t stop us enjoying our stay but if we had been staying more than one night we would have asked to change rooms. Apart from that we would definitely return."

"Had an excellent stay at the hotel, our room had been recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. Very smart bathroom, plenty of sockets and a lovely shower! The staff from start to finish were friendly, welcoming and helpful, definitely would recommend and will be staying here in future - thank you!"

"Friendly helpful staff. Food was very good for this star rating. Lovely cooked breakfasts and evening meals. All areas were clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom required updating but on the plus side loads of hot water. We stayed for a long weekend and due to hot weather needed the bedroom window open overnight. The street noise was pretty bad. On a positive note great location for all York has to offer. Very pleasant stay."

"Excluding the non functional ac in my room it was a very pleasant stay with incredible views of the minster very safe for solo travellers and for people who like nights out its round the corner from the iconic flares nightclub for people who like peace and quiet it is also really well suited the rooms have excellent sound insulation hardly any noise"
