Great location and reasonably comfortable but the rooms need attention. The bathroom was cramped and outdated, the shower was poor and the extractor fan didn’t work. There was no air conditioning in the room and the windows only opened sufficiently for a little ventilation. A fan is provided however. The bar and adjoining lounge was lovely - it was very picturesque with the river view.

The location is fabulous, the staff are helpful and friendly. Excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms were a good size and you can park your car at the hotel. We will definitely stay here again. The decor is a little dated, but I wasn’t too bothered. A fantastic stay.

Apartment was clean and spacious exactly what we needed as a family of 4. There was a comprehensive folder of information in the apartment which was helpful. The apartment was within a 10-15 minute walk of the city centre attractions, free parking under the apartment was also what attracted us to book.

Perfectly fine, ideal location for York, everything you could need.my only gripe was the temperature, it was so hot in the first night despite the heating being switched off, even with the window open.

Got to the hotel after a long day and found out they didn’t have a room for us. They offered us a room up the street at the Grange Beauchamp. It took a while to set up the room as they needed to make it a four person room. They comped us free breakfast for the two mornings we were there which seemed fair. The location was nice and I’d stay there again.

We didn't receive a particularly warm welcome on arrival but bar and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was basic but fine for a short stay and the bed was comfortable. However, the noise from the streets outside (all night) affected our sleep.

We had a lovely room overlooking the river. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless and the decor was up to date. Only slight quibble was the shower over the bath which was dated but produced hot water. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection was good with English breakfast cooked well. The lounge was a lovely room to have a drin as it overlooked the river. I would definitely recommend this independently run hotel
