"We’ve decided to pick this hotel for my 40th birthday stay as it has such good reviews. Sadly we were a bit let down. It’s just next to quite busy road and the soundproofing of the room was not great (we could hear everything from the upstairs room:walking, conversations, their TV). Condition of the room was a bit tired as well… The staff was lovely and breakfast was nice. Grounds were nice as well as quite a bit of greenery, birds chirping etc. It’s just sadly it was not 10/10 for us…"

"Unfortunately the pub was closed for our Tuesday night stay. This meant that we had to drive to another pub for our evening meal, which wasn't very good at all. Also meant that as the driver I couldn't have a drink. Which was the whole idea of staying at the Hood Arms was an evening in an old pub. Breakfast was supurb as was the room. Great place to stay just not (currently) on a Monday or Tuesday. Landlord was really appologetic and very helpful."
