The North Bund Hotels, Shanghai

"We have some feedback for the hotel! English services were lacking in a premier hotel like this. We expected and had received better language services in other hotels around Shanghai that were in less touristy areas. Communicating with the front desk for simple requests (water, pens, towels, bringing up delivery to our room) often required multiple phone calls, each time with different people who seemed to not pass along the message especially when transitioning between day and night shift employees. No clothes steamer available. Only iron. This is unacceptable for a hotel that will service weddings and wedding parties. It’s OK to not have a steamer for every room, but the hotel needs to keep a stock of them in case guests request one. The hotel is in a magnificent location, but feel lack of maintenance. What a pity! Such a waste of being in the beautiful bund area!"

"Great location, great hospitality and great amenities. The rooms look newer than the pics and the Gym is larger too (Has a Stepper, multiple treadmills, multiple freeweights, bench press, 2 cable machines, a smith machine, an enitre gym). Would come to Shanghai just to be here. "

"Hotel was decent, nothing special. Breakfast was ok - not fresh for sure. I was there for 1 week and it was the same everyday, I could tell it wasn't fresh. Only fresh thing was the guy making egg omelette. Surprisingly hardly anybody at the hotel spoke English. Very difficult to communicate, I didn't expect it as you would expect a high end hotel to. I personally wouldn't pay all that money to come here again, would rather pay less/half and go elsewhere. It was my 1st time in China/Shanghai. If I had of known it would be been like that then I would have rather stayed elsewhere and saved some money. As I've mentioned it wasn't anything special."
