"We recently stayed 5 night's. We had private transfer from airport thru mts which i highly recommended so you dont have to wait for others. Check in we were upsold to a swimout by the ocean. Do not do that. In the photo they showed us, it showed a cabana in front of your room but it was like the land of broken cabanas that sat in front of your ocean view and were stacked 2 deep. Would have never upgraded if had known that. Would have stayed with our original swimout. Also ( not the hotels fault) the sargassum all collected right in front of our view. So stay away from these swimouts. Our butler was amazing. We had 2 during our stay and they did great. Room service was great. Cleaning staff was awesome. Definitely recommend the spa. Food was okay but didnt like that the " best" options/ restaurants you had to pay extra for. Was told few years ago the " best" options/ restaurants were included. The pool and activities were a great time. The best thing is walking playa del carmen. That was an absolute blast. If trying to be sold a different room just ask to see it first. "

"I’ve stayed at Hyatt Vivid (next door) and I thought it was great. While walking at the beach, looking at Devossion by Live Aqua, it didn’t seem too attractive. However, this time we decided to give at chance. By just simply walking in into Devossion (front entry) it takes your breath away. The view of the ocean from the front desk (checking in) is AMAZING!!!!! I felt in love at first sight with this resort. The views, the restaurants, the ambiance, their customer service…. Everything that you need to relax. I will definitely be back and strongly recommend. The views from the hotel from any angle, is AMAZING… lets not forget the views during the night, FANTASTIC!"

"It is a beautiful hotel! There is no property around it to go for a stroll on property! I know the water of the ocean is rising so there is very little ocean beach!"

"We stayed in the family resort. I think our stay would've been better if our room was located in the main building by the lobby and restaurants. The distance to the lobby was the same as walking across the street in the blazing sun. Highly recommended to ask for a room in the main lobby building. Buffet was not good. Not a lot of variety. Didn't seem very food safe for most of the foods; sweaty cheeses, cold meat and fruit just sitting out and not on ice or anything. You're better off ordering room service or reserving a restaurant! We tried to book an excursion, but guest services kept giving us different prices right in front of our eyes. We discussed a price the day before and agreed upon it. My husband took a photo of the info, next day we decided to go back and pay for the excursion. Guest service told us that they didn't offer that price. We showed them a photo of what the offered and they said "it was a mistake." Promotion was also offered if you gave 45minutes of your time to learn about "the circle"~ it's $32k if you want to be a member! Lots of pools for families. Beach had seaweed every day. Beaitiful mangroves. Lots of activities for kids."

"Checked in and went to the beach. A friend that was staying at a near by hotel came by to visit. Was immediately confronted by security and escorted to the front desk because she did not have an armband. Paid an additional $60 per night for her to visit!! The next night I was questioned by hotel staff because they assumed that I wasn’t a guest because I had a different colored armband but it was the armband given to my by the front desk. GET IT TOGETHER!!"

"We’ve visited the Reef 28 many times. The staff is great. However, I’ve seen some of the services decline. The all inclusive option is becoming more and more minimal. We will return in hopes the offerings improve"
