We teied with another phone with different cel company and id not work either. We tried to reach the host to both numbers listed for about 45 minutes and nothing. We had to spend the night in another place and I had a minor. The next morning the app worked and thereafter. The host did nothing to solve the situation. Place was clean, nice and close...

"Our room was absolutely beautiful overlooking canal and gondolas- but ac wasn’t working it was hot - they kindly offered us another room but without the same beautiful view - so we declined - they brought us a fan which helped a ton ! Great location and staff was super nice - only complaint they were redoing room next to us and loud workers as we were trying to take a nap"
