The accomodation was once a palace and had been beautifully restored and added to. The room was large with a fabulous marble bathroom , shower and powder room. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were welcomed with a bottle of frizzante wine and chocolates which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and contour pillows were available on request. We had a superior room and it was very spacious and lovely. The staff were very helpful which made the stay that much nicer. In terms of locations it is hard to beat as it is just off the Piazza of St Marc and yet is very quiet in the room at night. Beds are very comfortable and the room and bathroom was very clean. It is a close walk to Rialto and we also walked to the train station which takes 40 minutes whilst the boat ride is over an hour.

Excess Venice was everything we wanted in our stay in Venice! A little away from the main tourist area yet quickly and easily accessible via Vaporetto (water bus) or a 30 minute lovely walk through cobbled streets or along the waterfront to the main attractions. The rooms, amenities (coffee machine!), ambience, staff (thank you Anna especially) were faultless. We will definitely stay here any time we come to Venice!
