• Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.

• Your travel documents and passport will need to be inspected by airport security personnel. Have them close by so you don't have to dig around for them.
• The X-ray machine comes next. Remove anything metal on you that is likely to set off the alarm. This includes things like headphones or earphones, as well as heavy jackets or coats. They'll need to be placed on the conveyor belt for screening.
• Electronic devices like phones and laptops will also have to go through the machine to be scanned. Don't worry though, you'll be back online before you know it.
