"Like everything in Tulum this place is pretty pricey. The staff are great, the rooms are nothing fancy and the drinks are very expensive -- $20+ CAD for a Margarita is just weird. Location is terrific right by the ocean but be sure to focus meal budget in town where the meals are far more reasonable than along this strip. Best to have access to a car as there isn't much to do here besides enjoy the beautiful views and take in the beach air. "

"Loved the rustic look of the rooms with all the creature comforts included (AC, mini fridge, hot water, etc.). The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the food was great, both in the hotel and in nearby restaurants. There are convenience stores, pharmacies, ATMs and currency exchange offices within walking distance. We had a lovely stay, very unfortunate that the sargassum kept us from the beach, but that's not the hotel's fault."

"The apartment was dirty and dusty. We were 3 people and didn’t get the 2 bedroom apartment because we wanted the one that had the private hot tub in the balcony which only had one bedroom and when we got in the place to be able to relax the hot tub was dirty and broken and I told them and they wouldn’t send anybody to come fix it. Also the dishes were dirty and the sink in the kitchen barely had water to wash dishes, the water in the shower was like salt water terrible, and no where to find...

"We had the most incredible honeymoon at Maria Del Mar! Our concierge Santiago helped us to create an amazing itinerary and adapted for us as we made changes! "Samantha and the rest of the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel is super cute with gorgeous plants, clean rooms, and a great spot on the beach. The Agave restaurant associated with the hotel was delicious. They have the tallest vantage point along the coast of Tulum so you can enjoy sunset over the trees and sunrise over the ocean. They also have a coffee service included where they bring you freshly roasted coffee and leave it outside your room at your desired time....

The famous "Mayan Ruin at the glorious Beach" in Tulum. The site is part of a larger archeological site and gets VERY busy in spring. But it´s definitely worth a visit, since you can go for a swim after the cultural part ;-) #AquaTrove
