"I really enjoyed my stay at The Gainsborough. You honestly couldn't ask for a better location. It's just a block from the square and an easy 10 min walk from Bath Spa train station, so getting around the city was effortless. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The one small downside of being so central was some noise, though that was probably due to where my room was located. If you're a light sleeper, it may be worth requesting a quieter room. The spa was the highlight. It was absolutely wonderful and a perfect way to unwind after exploring Bath. Overall, a lovely stay, and I'd happily come back."

"There was plenty of food to choose from. The cooked food was cooked well and of good quality. Only criticisms is that for me there could have been a wider choice of fruit and that finding room to sit at breakfast was quite difficult, despite the efforts of the staff to prepare tables as soon as they were vacated."

"Great base place to explore Bath, specially if you rented a car which you can park inside the hotel premises. Bedroom was spacious and well appointed. We had breakfast once and it was nice quality, but since they were closing felt rushed with no purpose. Based on room rates to charge for parking felt unnecessary and probably won't move the hotel top line needle. Would go back to it!"

"The hotel and our room were a 10 on a 10 scale. The staff unfortunately seemed just plain tired. No welcome smiles- neither at the reception nor the dining. Maps of the town were impossible to read. The breakfast servers stood around talking. Never came by to check on us or refill our coffees. There was no concierge and many of the staff were new and seemed to know nothing about the town. Truly- a very surprisingly unfriendly experience. But loved the hotel!"
