"East County gem. This is the 3rd time that I have stayed at Ayers Lodge, and it is truly a gem in East County. The rooms are clean (and now renovated,) the amenities are wonderful! (There is a sitting area outside, along with tables and chairs, a BBQ grill, as well as a fire pit. They have a great breakfast with a large selection, as well as chocolate chip cookies every night. The property is quiet and secluded despite being right by the freeway. There is a shuttle that will take you to and from Viejas Casino if you want to go there. This hotel is also close to several bars and restaurants. Definitely my go-to lodging when I come back home to visit. "

"The location is great if you are crossing late from Tijuana to San Diego and you need to rest, the room is super clean, and very comfortable. "

"Room was not the same as pictures. Lots of flies inside room. A lot of homeless at property and around hotel. Saw 2 people working in their cars like if it was an auto repair shop! Left room after just being there 1 hour. Felt very uncomfortable and unsafe at this place. Will not recommended to anyone!"

"Vineyard Hacienda looks charming from the outside and has a very nice looking pool and spa, but once you enter the place, it is filled with dark hallways leading to various rooms. The furniture is very old, like imagine grandma's furniture and one room was even cordoned off like it was a museum. While the place was generally tidy, it was very dated and had an odd feeling to it. It was quite scary actually. I mean, the second I walked in I felt like there was an odd energy there. There was no way I was going to spend the night there. I booked a room at Jamul Casino which was close by and had brand new rooms for only 20 dollars more than Vineyard charged me. And speaking of charging, they didn't offer me any of my payment back even though I did not stay there. I understand that there is a cancellation policy, but their ad was so misleading that I feel it was dishonest. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Some friends stayed at Sycuan for $100 per night and said it was amazing! I never leave reviews but if this saves at least one poor soul from disappointment then it was worth my time to write it. "
