"I stayed at Hotel Garrett in San Francisco from May 12–13 and overall had a good experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel staff provided good service throughout my stay, and the location is convenient. However, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. First, the room did not appear to have an air conditioning system. This may not be an issue when temperatures are 70°F, but it could become uncomfortable during the summer warmer months. A mini refrigerator in the room would also be an excellent addition for guests staying multiple days. I also noticed that the window shade in my room was torn, which is something housekeeping or maintenance should inspect and address before guest check-in. My biggest concern involved customer service. Due to a change in my plans, I requested to shorten my stay and asked if the hotel could waive the penalty charge. Expedia informed both the front office manager and me that it was within the hotel's discretion to do so. Unfortunately, my request was declined. I understand policies exist, I felt this was a missed opportunity to put the guest experience first and demonstrate greater flexibility in customer service. Hotel Garrett remains a good place to stay. A few improvements—particularly regarding room amenities, maintenance attention, and customer-focused flexibility—could make it an outstanding hotel experience. FYI, I have also stayed at Hotel Fiona next door, a sister property. I had a great stay>"

"The Parker was a lovely place to call home while in San Francisco. The grounds and gardens were meticulous and beautiful as we spent considerable time there. The home itself (1906) was beautiful and immaculate. The continental breakfast was wonderful (but could have some pastries to balance all the healthy items). The room was convenient and was very clean and well kept. We would definitely book another stay the next time we visit SF."
