"Hotel Hanabun was a great ryokan experience! It is nestled in the mountains offering a peaceful getaway from touristy/crowded areas. It had the best onsen water, even the locals went there to bathe! The hosts and staff are all friendly and accommodating to your needs. Google translate was necessary to communicate, but everyone is very patient. The food was incredibly delicious, and they use locally sourced, fresh ingredients. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy ryokan. "

"We were here for a couple of days and had a wonderful stay! The place is kept clean, and it sits right by the ski hill. Nothing beats a soak in the hot public bath after a day of skiing. Also loved the breakfast and dinner! The gem though was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and went out of the way to help us. "

"Excellent location for a quick trip to Zenkoji Temple and a very good bargain. The only issues are the stairs being steeper than most people are likely used to, and the futons can give you a stiff back. The price is nice in that it gives you the ability to try out the Ryokan experience without committing to a heavy price tag."
