New Orleans Courtyard Hotel and Suites by the French Quarter

2/10 Terrible

"This was the most dirty, unsafe hotel. I took one look around and immediately booked a hotel at another location—The Royal Sonesta (a fabulous, clean, safe hotel on Bourbon Street). However, this raggedy hotel refused to refund my money. I know their harsh nonrefundable policy is only because they know travelers who are unfamiliar with the location will be forced to stay in this location upon arrival despite its unsafe and decrepit exterior. I wasted my money here, but thankfully I still had a wonderful time staying at the Royal Sonesta. The only good thing about this place was the sweet front desk agent who walked me to my car because I felt that unsafe being on the property. Praise God for her. Besides that, the manager is terrible for refusing to give me my money back for a room I never stayed in."

"We booked this home for a girls' trip and had a very enjoyable stay overall. Upon arrival, the property was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. With five beds available, our group had plenty of sleeping space and everyone was comfortably accommodated.Parking required a little planning since our group arrived in larger vehicles. We were able to fit three vehicles in the driveway, though it is somewhat tight and getting in and out of the vehicles can be a challenge.The home's décor was one of our favorite features. It was colorful, unique, and full of character, providing a fun New Orleans atmosphere that added to the overall experience. The backyard is a beautiful outdoor space with plenty of potential for relaxing; however, guests should note that there is currently no backyard lighting, which made it difficult to use after dark.The location was convenient, with easy access to public transportation, including the streetcar and bus routes, as well as several local restaurants within walking distance. One unexpected highlight was the neighborhood itself. The neighbors were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering great recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and local experiences that helped make our trip even more memorable.Overall, this was a comfortable, charming place to stay and a great home base for exploring New Orleans."

"This was an amazing stay close to all the happening stuff! It was old and charming and decorated with lots of purples and reds to really fit the vibe! Walking steps to all the good spots. Had amenities like soap and laundry, pods, and extra blankets and pillows. We had left something in the house and the host responded immediately and was extremely helpful going out of his way.The courtyard was beautiful, and it was really nice to wake up slow and have breakfast on the patio and a bloody Mary!Unfortunately, this place is not haunted, so you might wanna hook up with a vampire cemetery tour on your trip. Jk Sleeps for, but honestly could sleep five with the upstairs loft couch. Will stay again !!"

"I stay in a different hotel each time I go to Nola. This time it was rathbone. I knew the location would be ok. And it was. Addressed took us to wrong building. Office is across the street. Fine. Not unusual in Nola. We got the furthest room in the back. View was dug up septic pipes. Job has been done but ground still hasn’t been put back right. I understand maintenance is needed but it was mentioned at all. Even just to apologize for having a view of an orange vinyl caution fence. Maybe there wasn’t other rooms available but would have been nice to been made aware some how. Room was nice. Clean. Shower was nice! Real nice compared to some In the older hotels I usually stay in. I love old hotels. Our room wasn’t original to the property but still cool little spot. Locked gate also so I’m we did feel safe. If you’re looking to stay just outside of the FQ this would work."

"Was very impressed with the staff & enjoyed my interactions with Tequila at the front desk. Very hospitable & when my ac unit seemed to not be working, she promptly put me into another room. Maintenance was quick to come and realized the ac was in fact working. Room was very comfortable & the bathroom was roomy & updated. Would definitely stay here again."

"Amazing hotel! It is an apartment with all the amenities! Even had silverware, pots and pans, plates and bowls, coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer, stove top, microwave, etc! Comfortable bed! Spacious living room, kitchen and bedroom! Balcony overlooking Rampart is amazing! Right next door to Keys Gas Station! Very great location! Very convenient! Staff was amazing! All 3 ladies that worked the front were amazing! Amanda was awesome and very helpful with everything as I arrived! I will definitely be back! And this may be my only destination in the future for future French quarter stays! Thanks y'all! I'll be back!"
