Given the price point to stay here I was disappointed for a number of reasons. Firstly as a coffee drinker I expect a Nespresso and not instant coffee. I've stayed in way cheaper hotels where this is provided.
I also went to get a drink at 8.30pm in the bar on a Wednesday evening and they were so reluctant to let us in. I asked if there was anyway we could order bar snacks and they said no. I find this strange given they have 24hour room service. The service was less than average so we left.
My biggest gripe is that I was told it was 24 hour reception. My car was parked in the carpark at the cost of $25 a day (self park price). I needed my ticket validated so I could leave. It was 6.45am and myself as well as 3 others stood in reception to a note saying it was unattended and to call a number if it was an emergency. We called and no answer. Finally we got a cleaner (the most helpful person there) to go and find someone who eventually appeared, looked after the first person (who just needed cakes taken out of the fridge) then disappeared never to be seen again. I eventually got served with zero apology and missed my appointment. Glad I wasn't trying to make a flight! I bought it up with the hotel after I had calmed down and they did apologize and left a plate of 4 bite size sweets in my room with a card. While I appreciate the sentiment I was so unimpressed which is a huge pity as the location to Chandstone is amazing and the bed and room was lovely.
