"Rooms were small but very clean, beds very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely location in a 1928 hotel. Highly recommend if you want a pleasant setting with some old worldly charm"

"We took room with an ensuite. While they're very small, it does the job. There is no a/C which we knew about, but thankfully it was a cool night or it'd be very hot. Winter has heating. Now, if you can sleep through trains, yep more than one at night, then definitely stay here. It's a great old style Scottish themed pub, yes it's creaky and like a rabbit warren finding rooms (not that hard, good signage) and the food was very good. Great price and worth the visit."

"The room was very clean however there was a lack of attention to detail in other areas. Eg we were given the wrong room and had to explain to reception the room we had booked wasn’t the one allocated, we didn’t get our water or biscuits replaced after housekeeping had been through and we found a used face washer in the shower. Small things but for the price we paid we expected more."
