This hotel is wonderful in a beautiful treed area leading up to Piazza d' Michelangelo. Mini bar is free and Happy hour (s) occurs each night in the garden with free wine and beer and plentiful finger food. Breakfast is the best we have had in Europe!

We had an amazing room overlooking the Piazza. There was some noise from the activities going on till midnight which might bother young families but as a family of four with slightly older kids we loved everything about it. It had such a great atmosphere, staff were friendly and breakfast each day was great. I definitely stay again if we're ever back in Florence.

A top hotel for an amazing city - we adored our stay here for two nights. Special mention to Angelo, Alice and Alessia for helping us have a great stay.

Beautiful room decor, with the room and bathroom spotlessly clean and very comfortable and pleasing.
The location was excellent, close to the train station, right on the Santa Maria Novella Piazza, and, an easy walk to almost everything.
The breakfast buffet was beautiful: the staff attentiveness, the food, and the view of the Santa Maria Novella Piazza and Bascilica. The breakfast food and drink was exceptional: with the range and quality available. Full credit to the wait and kitchen...

Arriving at this villa was breathtaking. The immaculate gardens and beautiful structure gave a Tuscan villa feel while still being close enough by bus to the city centre.
We booked a family room for 2 adults and 3 kids which was larger than expected and very comfortable, especially the bed. It had a big balcony where we could see the gardens and sunset which created a great memory. The only issue was that we couldn't easily keep the doors open to each room to allow the kids in and out as they...

One of the best boutique hotels we have stayed at anywhere. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Room was very comfortable. Good location to train station and all iconic attractions . We will be recommending this hotel to our friends or anyone really. Well done! Bonus was the wine and goodies offered to all guests.

FANTASTIC !!! Stayed at this hotel more than ten years ago and found it run down, very aged and room extremely small and noisy on Via del Corso. What an explosion of style and magnificence with the total remake in 2009/2012. Three years of severe restoring have turned this hotel into an unbelievable PALACE.
I could never have imagined that this would be the best hotel in my 28 days in Italy this year. I have been to 11 hotels in 8 cities and this is deservedly the most magnificent part of my...

Amazing experience staying here! The villa is stunning you feel like you’re living as royalty. The gardens are beautiful despite the extreme heat of Italy.
Don’t miss a sunset in the gardens.
We had dinner twice, both nights had lovely food and service. The Buffett breakfast is definitely worth adding to your stay.
The shuttle that takes you into town is such a good idea. Even though we had a car we didn’t have to worry about trying to park near the city to explore.

Great location- right in front of a tram line, and a quick ride away from the city centre. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful, and had complimentary drinks!

The reception staff were so lovely and friendly - I didn’t catch the ladies name but she was super helpful. Was so nice to use the plunge pool after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is in a great location and they had a fantastic buffet breakfast (including a great selection of gluten free). Highly recommend

For a quintessential Tuscan experience, the best area to stay in Luco di Mugello is within the countryside immediately surrounding the village itself, particularly in the foothills leading up to the Apennine mountains.
This area is characterised by rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards, with scattered historic farmhouses and villas. It's a rural setting, offering peace and quiet, yet it's only a short drive from the village centre where you'll find local shops and trattorias. The landscape is dotted with cypress trees and stone-built properties, providing those iconic Tuscan views.
Couples looking for a romantic escape will find this area particularly appealing. Many properties offer private pools, secluded gardens, and stunning vistas, great for relaxing evenings. You can enjoy wine tasting at local vineyards or take leisurely drives through the picturesque countryside, discovering small, historic towns at your own pace.
Families will also appreciate the space and privacy offered by staying in a countryside villa or agriturismo. These larger properties often come with ample outdoor space for children to play, and many have private cooking facilities, allowing for relaxed family meals.
When is the best time to go to Luco Di Mugello?
The best time to visit Luco Di Mugello is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the Tuscan countryside is at its most inviting.
During April and May, the landscape is lush and green, with wildflowers in bloom, and the temperatures are comfortably mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This period is ideal for exploring the rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves on foot or by bicycle. It's also a wonderful time to enjoy outdoor dining at local trattorias without the intense heat of summer.
September and October offer a different kind of beauty, with the grape harvest in full swing and the foliage turning to warm, earthy colours. The weather remains agreeable, with daytime temperatures often between 18°C and 28°C. This season is great for food and wine enthusiasts, as many local festivals celebrate the new wine, olives, and truffles.
