The staff are extremely polite and helpful. We were not happy with our room at first and they upgraded us to a bigger room. Rooms layouts are great. They offered free drinks, coffee, and tea in the lobby every day. We tried the breakfast buffet once, but it was not that great for the price. The location is within a 10-minute walk of Kyoto station and another 20-minute walk from the core which is great. Make sure you take advantage of the Panasonic electric bike the hotel offers for free. It is fun to ride with them.

WOW!! We loved this hotel It is immaculate inside and out. Great staff and Facilities. The beds were heavenly and the cedar tub in the room was such a treat. This is in the best location - definitely a highlight of our Japan trip this year. Thank you to the entire staff

This is the second time my family and I check in to Kanra Hotel Kyoto across a period of 8 years and it has never disappointed us. We love that the hotel is situated at a slightly quiet area but very accessible by local subway and bus. The hotel rooms are very nicely decorated and it gives you a sense of zen and calm after a long day as soon as you return to the hotel.

It is next to a busy street so you can hear all the cars and people on the street. Makes it hard to sleep. Great room though

Stayed for one night since touring Kyoto. Was best hotel I ever stayed at. Staff spoke English and Japanese. The restaurant was amazing. The hot tub and upgraded room was worth it.

Comfortable Hotel
Hotel staff are very helpful and attentive. Property is nice and has a traditional design. The rooms were quite noisy and were a little worn, the hotel staff were great in trying to accomodate a quieter and better room. Overall staff are really great.

Our stay at the Kanra was excellent. The room was clean, the hotel and staff were extremely welcoming, it is beautiful and smells great when you walk in. We were also lucky enough to have a great view of the tower. The bathroom is lovely and feels luxurious. The heater (air) was a bit loud, so we’d just turn it off before bed. Again, we had an excellent 6 night stay and I would definitely stay again when visiting Kyoto.
