Wonderful out door experience. Well run by Saman. Very comfortable tent with adequate en suite shower etc. Dinner around the fire was straight out of the film Out of Africa. Very good red wine. Didn’t try the white and the food was excellent. The safari was well worth the early start with a stop for breakfast served in the safari jeep. We had a drive and guide from the camp and a guide from the park too. They are amazing at spotting the game. You need at least 2 nights and it is a wonderful family experience too.

service staff was wonderful, but needs quite a bit of training. Staff shift supervisor was much more experience and guest oriented than the Guest Relations manager. I briefly saw the camp manager and there was no sincerity. She was as the elusive leopard. Food was excellent so was the minor staff.

Nice camp. Tent was lovely and spotless. I booked my safari through the camp. The nighttime (afternoon) safari was my favourite. Much smaller area to cover and fewer cars than in the morning. We saw two leopards. One having a nap and another trying to get some dinner. Lots of other stuff to see, elephants, crocodiles. Buffalo, Spotted Deer, Eagles, the list goes on. Would recommend.

1/2 day safari stay
Great one night stay with 1/2 day safari. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Lunch and eve meal good. Nice to sit around the bonfire under the night sky. Great morning safari and lucky to see 4 leopards amongst many other animals and birds. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay one to remember

The staff was great very attentive to its customers. The tents were great and the meals were also very good. The stay also included a safari and a guide which also was great. I would recommend this place to anyone.

EXCELLENT
We stayed as an extension to my 50th birthday celebrations. When the team learned of this, they wanted to do Wilpattu (sister camp) ... and they succeeded. We did a full day safari with superb driver and guide. Food was excellent. Room was tent luxury. Clean, comfortable, out with nature and lovely views of the stars. The camp manager went out of his way to interact with guests. A real wildlife experience with a real human, personal touch.

Highlight of our Trip!
Highly recommend Big Game Camp! The food is fabulous and included a silver service dinner with a bonfire under the stars. Definitely recommend full board it's excellent value! It's best to book your safari before arrival though as we didn't and missed out on getting a guide. Not that it seemed to matter, we saw so many animals and we were privileged to see a leopard drinking from a watering hole right beside us. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you. Loved Big Game Camp!

A glamping experience in Yala National Park!
Was a great stay, with fantastic attentive staff who welcomed us, even though we arrived quite late (around 8pm). Would highly recommend this to couples, friends + families looking to visit the National Park. We stayed only for 1 night, but think its more than enough if you do one afternoon and one morning safari tour. Breakfast was better than average (for Sri Lanka), but dinner was fantastic! 3 course meal (soup, bbq roasted meats with pasta and veg, fruit salad + icecream).

Fun camping experience close to Yala
Very friendly staff help to make this camping experience special. Tents have their own bathroom and fan. Evening meals were very tasty and served outside under the stars, lit by candle light and bonfire! Very convenient for Yala park.

The camp is quite nice and our tent was adequate but definitely not luxurious.Expensive for what it is . We had cold showers even though it advertised hot showers. The tent was shabby not what I had expected. Staff were lovely. Also could not pay with our Visa travel card and had to drive to. City to an ATM .

Good place but bathroom need maintenance.
In general a good place but our tent had some issues resulting in an ever wet (1+ cm water) floor in the bathroom. For the price of the accommodation, they should take care of these issues. Good service ! Our wildlife safari organised by the camp was great, offered lunch on the safari was however limited.

All staff members are so kind and friendly. Every service was perfect and comfortable for me from the checking in to checking out. We booked the hotel very last minutes, but the staff helped me for the meal arrangement and the safari arrangement smoothly so there was no inconvenience and negative comments for the stay! I’d like to come and visit here again.

You can not be closer to nature. It's amazing to listen to the sound of nature especially in the morning. To join the safari is recommended as the game does not provide big entertainment except peacefull tent areas with relaxing hammrocks. The staff is very friendly and caring. The tents are almost like Hotel rooms and perfectly equiped. Dinner is served as BBQ and it is very tasty. Breakfast is offered with fresh fruits. Once you participate to the Safari you are guided perfectly and you also get a nice bush-breakfast. I can recommend the accommodation for a stay of 2-3 days and in combination with a pre-booked Safari.

Fantastisk sted
Lejren var fantastisk, midt i naturen, og med et virkelig behageligt personale. Man føler sig velkommen fra det første øjeblik. Virkelig lækker mad - 3 retter til både morgenmad og aftensmad. Hyggeligt med bål hver aften. Toilet- og badefaciliteterne var helt fine. Så hyggelig lejr.

Zeltstadt im abgelegenen Wald. Nettes Ambiente mit Lagerfeuer, BBQ Grill und Natur pur! Es gibt Teetime & ein Willkmensgetränk. Leider besteht keine Möglichkeit in die Stadt zu kommen da die TukTuks nicht auf dem schlammigen Weg bis zum Camp fahren. Dadurch entsteht eine Art Monopol was bei Lunch & Dinner mit für dieses Land überzogen Preisen ausgenutzt wird. Das Camp bietet Safari Touren an. Die Ganztagestour (200 Dollar 6x18Uhr) ist wesentlich billiger, aber bei Ankuft wird erzählt dass man doch bitte die zwei Touren (5:30-11 & 14:30-18uhr jeweils 125 Dollar) buchen soll, das wäre besser.... (um nochmal einen zusätzlichen Lunch zu verkaufen???). Ist allerdings nicht so da der Weg vom Camp zurm Nationalpark jeweils 45-60min. dauert und man diese Zeit verliert... Das Serviceteam hat sich um alles gekümmert und war super nett. Aber am Ende blieb beinuns ein fader Beigeschmack und wir fühlten uns leicht abgezogt. Unser Tipp: Wer das Zelt nicht unbedingtt braucht, lieber ein Hotel/HomeStay in der Stadt buchen...

Thank you for your review. It is much appreciated. We are glad that you enjoyed our service. We are concerned regarding your discontent with the safari and the meals. We have not built our campsite in the area with the intention of being a monopoly, there are quite a few competitors around as well. As it is a very rural area in the country the food options outside are less. Our camp is situated 10 minutes away from Yala block 1 entrance. However, as Yala block 1 is closed till 31.10.2018 we have to travel almost an hour for the Yala block 5 entrance, which is usually not the case. Thank you for staying with us and we are truly sorry for the inconveniences caused during your stay.

Tja tja...
Vriendelijk personeel die willen dat je je goed voelt maar dit komt soms wel wat opdringerig over. Wij hadden een luxe tent geboekt, maar vergis je niet dit is geen luxe. Het is echt back to basic (zonder wifi) de tenten zijn bovendien erg verouderd met overal kleine gaatjes tot gevolg waardoor spinnen en insecten onvermijdbaar zijn. De tenten zijn ook zeer krap en de “badkamer” moet dringend vernieuwd worden, wij hebben ons hier niet willen douchen omdat deze te vies waren. Prijs kwaliteit vinden wij dit niet oké. De safaries vonden we wel goed met een aangename jeep en gids.

豪華的帳篷我們住的是4人家庭房，床舖房間潔淨，有熱水洗澡，整個帳篷只有2枝用電的燈及風扇，晚上開風扇已足夠，偶然會停電，必須點蠟燭。 服務和食物都非常棒

Mysig tältcamping.
Fantastiskt god mat på middagen. Frukosten fick vi med i en påse som vi åt på safarin. Även den var mycket bra. Vi hade tur såg en Leopard, elefanter och en massa andra djur.

Nature is close!
Are you planning safaries in Yala, Big Game Camp is the place to stay to get in the right "mood" with nature just outside the tent door. The staff is very serviceminded, the dinners delicious, the set up for the dinners under a starlit sky sky is very romantic, and the location is relatively close to an entrance to Yala, which is not very crowded, when the safaries start early in the morning. We experienced a few mosquitoes , but nothing that a bit of repellent could't solve. A very nice and idyllic place!

Loud music during the night...
The tents are a bit old, but OK. The camp looks super nice in the evening, the have petroleum lights everywhere and a fire. Staff always tries to help you and the food is really good. One big downside. There is a hotel next to the camp. During the safari they arranged for us we had a great guide and spotted two leopards! They play very loud music whenever they want. Our last night from 23:30 untill 05:00, so we hardly could sleep. I called the manager but he could not stop the music...
