Totally devoid of staff, everything worked like a charm. Self check-in and out, free clothes washer (1 on level 5, 1 on level 7), free washing soap, no dryer, very roomy room (finally), no desk, very modern toilet and shower. It was our best hotel in Japan. Would visit again!

I enjoyed my stay at Hatoya hotel Ikebukuro. While not glamorous, the room was clean, comfortable and walking distance from the station and the centre of
Ikebukuro. It was the perfect place to base myself for a day of sightseeing around Tokyo. The manger and staff were were friendly and helpful. The manager even allowed me to check in when I arrived early which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely consider staying at Hatoya hotel again.

It is walkable to a lot- transportation, resto, konbini, etc. great for solo travellers but just be wary of the environment especially for female solo travellers at night.

Place was convenient to travel to hotspots and outer Tokyo. I’d recommend this place for short term stays as it’s quite small and not too much room for multiple luggage’s. it be great if the room owners added extra pillows and towels as the pillows are extremely flat and uncomfortable and the towels are very thin. I’d also suggest removing the big round table in the bedroom to make extra space and replace with something more convenient for guests. Other than that room was great.

I wasn't sure about this hotel when I booked it, I was choosing out of two. I'm glad i picked this one. It was difficult to find initially because we took the wrong train exit. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was busy.

Good location from Ikebukuro station. Hotel room is big and hotel comes with a lot of free activities. Only problem is the rooms aren't smoke free but luckily the smell of smoke isn't too strong I got used to it fairly quickly. I've stayed in worse places.

Hotel Changtee was the perfect spot for our stay in Tokyo. It's located super close to Ikebukuro station, and has many small restaurants and convenience stores on the same block. The hotel was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful. The free refrigerator/microwave/hot water/toaster machine and washing machine/dryer (Y200 ea) were all extremely handy, especially if you are on a budget and not wanting to eat out every night - or just wanting to heat up a snack.
Unlike some other reviewers, we...

Hotel was within walking distance out west exit of Ikebukuro station. Small rooms but clean and comfortable. Convenience store next door. Great price for Tokyo.

Really good hotel in a great location a short walk from the JR station at Ikebukuro. The area around the hotel and station has a number of department stores and hundreds of small shops, bars, restaurants and everything you would need during your stay.
The JR line is the main line that does a loop around most of the places in Tokyo you would want to visit plus there are a few other lines that have a stop at this station.
Overall a great hotel in a fantastic location and I enjoyed my second...
