"Thistle is an interesting mix of new and old. I needed a last minute hotel near Heathrow due to a canceled flight. Thistle was nearby and cheap, and the reviews were good enough. Before overpaying for an Uber or taxi to take me a short distance, I learned of the Heathrow Pods that depart outside Terminal 5 and drop you off next door to the hotel. These modern personal trains are very convenient. They are free at the airport, but then you pay at the hotel, but they're way cheaper than taxi or Uber. That's one of the new/modern parts of the hotel experience. Also modern is the lobby with self check-in and a self-pay pantry shop. The hotel itself and the rooms are more dated, but still get the job done (once you figure out the confusing room numbering). I was able to get a good night's sleep before an early flight and a nice shower. I did not enjoy the hotel's restaurant and I don't think there are other options nearby. A disappointing fish & chips (with no chips) and a salad that was a bowl of lettuce with no flavor. But in a pinch this hotel got the job done. Take advantage of the Heathrow Pods if you can!"

"Very convenient to Heathrow. We arrived at Terminal 5, took the bus (free) from Terminal 5 to 4. Easy walk to Premier Inn from the terminal. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, the food & service was very good. We made the reservation 6 months in advance for a superior double room, check in time was 3:00pm. We checked in at 3:05pm, was told they did not have a superior double room available for that night, only a regular room was available. Not sure of what the price difference would be but the regular was fine."
