When is the best time to go to Hakajuku?

The best time to go to Hakajuku is during the spring (late March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. Spring in Hakajuku offers comfortable temperatures and the beautiful cherry blossoms. The weather is generally mild, making it pleasant for exploring the city's parks and outdoor attractions. You'll find the trees around the Hakajuku Castle ruins and along the riverbanks particularly picturesque during this season. Autumn provides similarly pleasant weather with cooler temperatures and stunning autumn foliage. The changing colours of the leaves, especially in areas like the Hakajuku Gyoen National Garden, create a lovely backdrop for sightseeing.

"We were an extended family of seven. We had half board included. The experience of staying in a ryokan was wonderful. The breakfast and dinner served to us in our larger room was both generous in portions and delicious to taste. The children were given partial portions of the Japanese menu which they enjoyed. The service from all staff was gracious and friendly. The onsens were so beautifully located outside but were quite hot! We couldn’t fault our stay. What was wonderful for us was the...

8/10 Good

"We love our private onsen. Beautiful property, very close to the Ropeway and Sight Seeing Cruise port. Not much of anything else!"

RakutenSTAY FUJIMITERRACE HakoneAshinoko

10/10 Excellent

"Overall, we had a great stay at Rakuten Stay Fuji View Hakone, and would definitely recommend it.” The heated floors, tatami room, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, and projector for movies and music made the space feel cozy and thoughtful. The indoor and outdoor hot spring baths were a real highlight. The location is super convenient, close to the bus station, restaurants, and shops, which made everything easy. Check-in was smooth, and the instructions were clear enough that we didn’t need to contact the host. A couple of small things could be improved, though. We did notice some dog hair left behind, so a bit more attention to cleaning would make a big difference. We were also excited about the Mount Fuji view, but the trees blocked most of it from our floor. It would be helpful if the listing set clearer expectations about that. Even so, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and next time we come back to Japan, we’d love to stay longer and hopefully enjoy a better view."
